DVS Keirin Collection

By Mettie October 29th, 2010 Permalink

DVS has a strong skate heritage, but following the Keo Curry signature shoe and the Cadence collaboration, they’re releasing the Keirin Collection – a range inspired by the brightly coloured numbered jerseys worn by Japanese Keirin racers.

Prolly took delivery of a couple of pairs recently. Their slim profile and stiff rubber outsole makes them well suited for riding in toe clips. No word on South African retailers, though. (Melissa?)

Onitsuka Tiger x Shoe Biz x BFF

By Mettie October 8th, 2010 Permalink

As the Bicycle Film Festival continues to roll around the world, HypeBeast gives us a look at a upcoming footwear design between Onitsuka Tiger and San Francisco-based Shoe Biz.

Developed for the San Francisco leg of this year’s Bicycle Film Festival, the shoes are a cycling version of Onitsuka’s classic Mexico silhouette, featuring a solid rubber outsole which makes it studier and more durable than the current spongier design.

Additional highlights include super soft perforated leather uppers, a 3M reflective heel cross, and 3M woven shoelaces, all atop a simple black & white colorway. A release can be expected through Shoe Biz soon, with additional details to come.

Vans Vault x Brooks Fall 2010

By Mettie July 13th, 2010 Permalink

If you co-ordinate your outfit to match your bike, you’ll LOVE this. Vans Vault have collaborated Brooks Saddles to produce a reworked Era and matching saddle. The Era is constructed from soft black premium leather, with embossed graphics on the tongue (to match the saddle) and a dark brown leather heel tab.

San Francisco-based label Cadence has some really great pieces in its new Summer collection. I’m particularly feeling the 5-panel cap!

Check out the full collection here.
