Wallpaper* bike in a bag

Chances are you’ve seen the Wallpaper* International bike already, but on the off chance you haven’t…

For their Handmade issue, Wallpaper* commissioned the bike above, which is capable of being broken down using S&S couplers and squeezed into a leather tote.

The frames were handcrafted in Osaka by 71-year old master frame builder Shuichi Kusaka of US-Japanese operation Kinfolk, the rising stars of bespoke bike building. Frames were then shipped to Portland for a paint job by Coat. The bikes also feature limited edition leather saddles, produced especially for the bikes by Brooks, one of the world’s most respected saddle makers.

Sounds like quite the bike. And it comes at quite a price: $3,800 for the bike and the same again for the bag.

(Thanks for the tip-off Dave.)

The Pursuit of Happiness

I’ve been after a proper fast bike for quite a while, and through equal parts good fortune and impulse I recently acquired one of my dream bikes: a 1992 Cannondale Track. To say that I’m happy is an understatement.

The sloping top-tube and unforgiving track geometry give this bike honorary pursuit status. So to all the purists freaking out about the “pursuit” reference in the header: Get over it. Move on.

BIKE CHECK: DONALREY

Cycleangelo has started a project of video portraits of  New York cyclists. First up is Donalrey and his Yamaguchi. Such a sick bike. Which begs the question: Why so serious?

Random niceness

Aside from the REALLY BIG BRAKE LEVER, this Mercian is damn near perfect. I guess you can’t really blame the owner for being extra cautious.

Spotted on the London FGSS Bike Porn thread.

Tokyo Fixed Gear X Nike Tied Together

Tokyo Fixed Gear have been collaborating with Nike on their Tied Together project – part of an AIDS-awareness campaign for the (RED) charity. Each of the collaborators had to design a team t-shirt, so TFG took inspiration from their favorite Manga, Akira.

Nike also commissioned them to build a bike for the Tied Together show. So TFG teamed up with Feather Cycles and Death Spray Custom to produce one of the hottest collabs I’ve ever seen. Seriously. It’s a beast!

BLING! This set of gold Campagnolo belt buckles was one of 1,000 produced to celebrate Tullio Campagnolo’s 80th birthday. It’s currently on eBay for $2,500 BIN.

The seller also has some serious bike pr0n on offer… Definitely worth a look if you’re feeling flush.
